Trimmed vert stab tip using a 1/16" thick metal cutoff blade on my 4-1/2" angle grinder. Decided the jig saw wouldn't work because the blade would bottom on the opposide side of the part. The grinder gave a clean cut, but need to be carefull not to grind too much, or too close to cut line. Finished with hand sanding block and 80 grit sandpaper. Cut well with good control.
NOTE 2/6/14: Should have built a tail light mount and installed conduit/wires for the tail light before installing the tip. Struggled for a few hours removing the 32 rivets to remove the tip to modify it for a tailight and install conduit/wires.
After inspecting and confirming that all components were satisfactor to close the vertical stabilizer, did the final cleco and riveting of the skin.
Received complete drawing set, most backordered parts, and additional parts and material not sent. Amongst the new drawings is ONX-T08 Rev A which deleted spacer T08-17 but is still shown on T07 and T06 and no bolt length change. Will need to check with Sonex on this before mounting T08-13 which will compete the vert stab/rudder.
